Indigenous language of Taiwan and traditional folk songs are blended with world music to create a new fusion music movement.

Chalaw pasiwali

In this collaboration, Chalaw pasiwali of the Amis people of Taiwan meets Kilema, a world music maestro of Madagascan descent. The long history of the Austronesian culture flows in the blood of both men, and the resonance of their language and music brings them together as if they are long-lost brothers despite their disparate backgrounds. The musicians engage in an exchange of their native languages and take turns playing their traditional tribal musical instruments. All of this will continue to be protected and preserved, so that indigenous peoples can share the beauty of their cultures with the world with pride.
